[FOTOGALERÍA] Cardenal de Jerusalén visita comunidad católica de Gaza tras 7 meses de invasión

(ZENIT Noticias / Gaza, 19.05.2024).- El jueves 16 de mayo de 2024, Su Beatitud, el Cardenal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Patriarca Latino de Jerusalén, entró en Gaza y llegó a la parroquia de la Sagrada Familia para una visita pastoral a la comunidad católica que ahí se refugia.

Además del cardenal Pizzaballa estaban también Fray Alessandro de Franciscis, Gran Hospitalario de la Soberana Orden de Malta, el P. Gabriele Romanelli, párroco de Gaza, y una pequeña delegación. La Orden de Malta donó algunas provisiones.

El cardenal Pizzaballa y los demás acompañantes se reunieron con la población que sufre para animarlos y transmitirles un mensaje de esperanza, solidaridad y apoyo. Su Beatitud presidió la misa en la iglesia parroquial con la comunidad católica de Gaza. Durante su estancia, Su Beatitud realizó también una visita de cortesía a la parroquia ortodoxa de San Porfirio.

La visita es también la primera etapa de una misión humanitaria conjunta del Patriarcado Latino y la Soberana Orden de Malta, en colaboración con Malteser International y otros socios, cuyo objetivo es entregar alimentos y ayuda médica vitales a la población de Gaza.
